Whatever happened to Cock Robin?

One day I DID think he was dead as I found feathers and didn't see him for the whole hour I was sadly walking up and down the path. Only when I came in did he fly to the front lilac and look at me through the window.

But, so far, no one's killed him, but those feathers make me suspect that something rather physical did occur to Bobbit. He's been like this for a few weeks and though I thought the plumage would settle back down, it seems to be getting worse if anything. I worry that it's less insulating for him. And when it rained heavily, I was sure that it would be less waterproof.

He can obviously still appear incredibly handsome.
